For many years, almost always in my classroom on a computer, I have written essays with combined research of certain topics. When assigned a topic, I could always acquire my sources from the internet with the click of a button. Although we can easily obtain any information through the internet in order to write an essay, with each assignment we further our writing skills and grasp the meaning of having an identity. From a child taking an English class to an established college student, our identities in writing have taken years to form and flesh out. An identity is revealed with each new assessment we take. Through each of my research assignments, I have grown to be better at identifying what I should be sharing through my writing as I research and develop an essay on what I have found. While shaping my own identity, I have come to find what exactly I think the meaning of having one is. Your identity is founded upon personal experiences and how you choose to share them with the world. When someone writes, they can often share moments of their lives that shaped them into the person they are today. Their identity is shown through how they choose to write and express themselves through experiences.
